What does a motorized curtain track cost? Priced by length, and what is and isn't in it

Updated 2026-10-066 min read

A motorized curtain track isn't priced by the square yard like a roller blind. It's priced per set according to the length of the track, and that price already includes the motor. Here's what sits inside that figure, what is charged separately, and what moves the price.

People asking about motorized track prices usually have two questions folded into one: “how much for my length?” and “what does that figure include?” The second matters more, because shops quote in different ways — some give the rail only, some include the motor, some include the fabric too. If you don't know what a number covers, comparing it tells you nothing. Here is how ours is put together, one part at a time.

How much is a motorized curtain track, and how is it priced?

A motorized curtain track is priced per set according to the length band of the track, unlike roller blinds or wooden blinds, which go by area in square yards. It starts at 5,900 THB a set for a track of 1.00-1.49 m and steps up band by band to 10,190 THB for 8.00-8.49 m; every band is in the track-and-motor price table. That figure is for the track with its motor — there is no separate motor charge added on top. Every figure on this site is before VAT.

There are two routes for the fabric. The first is keeping the curtains you already have. That usually works, but it has to be checked on site: whether the existing heading and hooks suit the new track, and whether the drop still works with where the new track sits. The second is having new curtains made at the same time. Curtains are priced by the yard, as in the table below — how the yards are counted is covered in how curtains are priced by the yard.

How long can a motorized track be?

We make motorized tracks from 1 metre up to 16 metres long. The table below shows the range in centimetres. The price table runs up to 8.49 m; for a longer track, ask us on LINE.

The common mistake when measuring yourself is measuring only the glass. As a rule a track should run past the glass on both sides so the fabric has somewhere to stack when open; otherwise the curtain always covers part of the window. So the track length you're priced on is usually longer than the window is wide. More on measuring in how to measure your own windows.

What makes the price of a motorized track move?

  • Total track length — the main driver, since the price steps up with each length band.
  • One-way draw or centre-parting — whether the fabric stacks to one side or parts from the middle affects where the motor sits. Decide at the measure.
  • Single or double track — a sheer inside and an opaque curtain outside needs a double track.
  • Your own fabric or new curtains — keep yours and there's no fabric cost; new curtains are a further line.
  • Whether the old track has to come down first — taking down old curtains is 200 THB per unit.
  • Ceiling height — if it needs scaffolding, that's 500 THB per level.
  • What the track fixes into — a plasterboard ceiling that needs a backing beam is 550 THB per metre.

For one-way versus centre-parting, and single versus double track, there is no fixed figure to show on the site. Those numbers appear in the written quote after the on-site measure.

What other costs are there besides the track and the fabric?

  • Every price on this site is before VAT.
  • The on-site measure costs 500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area and is credited back in full when you order. Outside that it starts at 3,500 THB and is not credited back.
  • Taking down old curtains: 200 THB per unit.
  • Scaffolding for high ceilings: 500 THB per level.
  • Backing beams where a track fixes into a plasterboard ceiling: 550 THB per metre.
  • If there is no socket near the headrail, an electrician has to add one first — we don't do wiring.
  • Fitting after 17:30 costs extra. Weekends are at no extra charge.

What should you have ready before asking for a quote?

  1. The rough length of the run — wall to wall, or from where you want the track to start to where it ends, not just the width of the glass. It doesn't have to be exact yet.
  2. Photos of the window and the ceiling — showing whether the top is masonry, plasterboard, or an existing curtain box, and roughly how high the ceiling is.
  3. Where the power socket is — which end of the track it's nearest, because the motor has to sit at the powered end.
  4. How you want the curtain to draw — stacking to one side, or parting in the middle.
  5. One layer or two, and whether you're keeping your curtains or having new ones made. If keeping them, send a photo of the heading too.
  6. Whether an old track or curtain has to come down, and how many.

Send it through the window size tool — rough numbers are fine. Before the real measure the room needs to be fully finished, because the measurements have to be the final ones. We then send a written quote within a day, and the price holds for 7 days. From confirming to fitted takes 7-14 days, depending on how many units.

Does the track price include the motor?

Yes. The 5,900 THB starting price per set is for the track with its motor — there's no motor charge to add. What it doesn't include is fabric, fitting and VAT.

Can I keep my existing curtains on a motorized track?

Usually yes, and then there's no fabric cost. It does need checking on site — whether the existing heading and hooks suit the new track, and whether the drop works with where the new track sits.

What's the longest motorized track you make?

We make them from 1 metre up to 16 metres. The price table runs up to 8.49 m; for a longer track, ask us on LINE.

Which motor brands do you use, and what's the warranty?

We fit Somfy, Novo, Kacee and Uni motors. They typically last 5-10 years. We warrant the motor for 6 years and the installation for 1 year. The fabric itself isn't covered.

Can I still open and close the curtains in a power cut?

Yes. It doesn't get stuck — you can pull it by hand, though it feels a little stiffer than a manual curtain. More in motorized blinds in a power cut.

Want the numbers for your own windows?

Send rough sizes first — no need to measure precisely. We'll work out a price, then arrange the real measure.
