What do wooden blinds cost, how are they priced, and how do you look after them?

Updated 2026-10-066 min read

Wooden blinds are priced by the area of each blind in square yards, with a minimum per unit, and a separate motor charge if you want one motorized. Here's the pricing one part at a time, followed by the care you can do yourself at home.

Wooden blinds are made to the size of each window, so there's no “price per window” that fits every home. A small study window and a large living-room one simply don't use the same amount of timber. What we can state clearly is the method — and once you know it, you can work out roughly where your own windows land.

How much are wooden blinds, and how are they priced?

Wooden blinds are priced by the square yard of each blind, starting at 1,790 THB per square yard, plus a fitting charge per unit. Manual operation is standard, so there's no motor charge unless you order it motorized. Every figure on this site is before VAT.

How do you work out the square yardage yourself?

One yard is 91.44 cm. The formula is (width in cm ÷ 91.44) × (height in cm ÷ 91.44). The example below only illustrates how the area is worked out.

  1. Say the window is 120 cm wide and 150 cm tall.
  2. 120 ÷ 91.44 = 1.31 yd
  3. 150 ÷ 91.44 = 1.64 yd
  4. 1.31 × 1.64 ≈ 2.15 square yards

Wooden blinds have a 1.8 square-yard minimum per unit. A window 80 cm wide and 100 cm tall works out to about 0.96 square yards, and it is still charged as 1.8. If your home has several small windows, don't expect the price to shrink in proportion to the size.

Can wooden blinds be motorized, and what does the motor cost?

Yes. Our wooden blinds are manual as standard and can be ordered motorized. The motor is 25,000 THB per unit, charged separately from the blind and not part of the per-square-yard price. That is a good deal more than the motor on a motorized roller blind, which is 5,000 THB per unit.

Because the motor is charged per unit, the useful question is which windows really need one. Where you can reach comfortably, manual does everything. Where you can't reach, a motor is worth considering. There's more on that decision in motorized vs manual blinds.

How large can a wooden blind be?

A single wooden blind is made up to 250 cm wide and up to 300 cm tall, as in the table below. If the opening is bigger than that it is split into several units, or another product may be worth looking at alongside, such as a motorized roller blind. The trade-offs are in wooden blinds vs roller blinds.

What do fitting and the other extras cost?

  • Fitting: 200 THB per unit · under 10 units is a flat 2,000 THB · free over 20,000 THB.
  • Every price on this site is before VAT.
  • The on-site measure costs 500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area and is credited back in full when you order. Outside that it starts at 3,500 THB and is not credited back.
  • Taking down old curtains: 200 THB per unit.
  • Scaffolding for high ceilings: 500 THB per level.
  • Fitting after 17:30 costs extra. Weekends are at no extra charge.

How do you look after wooden blinds?

This part is general knowledge about caring for wooden blinds, and it applies wherever yours came from. There are two principles: don't let dust build up, and keep water away from the wood.

TaskDoAvoid
DustingTilt the slats closed so they form one flat surface, sweep top to bottom with a soft dry cloth or a duster, then tilt the other way and repeatLeaving it so long that dust sets into a film, which is far harder to remove
Wiping marksA well-wrung damp cloth on the spot, followed straight away by a dry oneSpraying, soaking, or harsh cleaners that can mark the finish
HumidityFit them in rooms with some airflow, and dry them off if they catch sprayPlaces that get splashed directly — the wet zone of a bathroom, above a sink, or a window rain blows into
SunLift the blind now and then when the room isn't in use, so the wood is exposed more evenlyLeaving it down in the same position in strong sun every day for long periods
Operating itPull the chain in line with the blind, with steady force, and stop if it suddenly feels stiffPulling at an angle, jerking, or pulling harder when it's stiff

Water matters most. Wood takes up moisture, and slats that get wet repeatedly can swell or warp. A room with only steam and decent ventilation is rarely a problem, but anywhere that takes water directly doesn't suit a wooden blind. If your window is in a spot like that, look at a material other than wood.

We warrant wooden blind slats for 1 year and the installation for 1 year. If you order it motorized, the motor is warranted for 6 years. We don't take cleaning or repair work, so routine care — dusting and wiping marks — is something you do yourself, as in the table above. If it's something covered by the warranty, message us as usual.

For the real number, send your sizes through the window size tool — rough figures are fine. After the on-site measure we send a written quote within a day, and the price holds for 7 days. If you haven't measured before, read how to measure your own windows first.

Does the per-square-yard price include fitting?

No. The per-square-yard rate covers the blind itself. Fitting is separate: 200 THB per unit, a flat 2,000 THB for under 10 units, and free when the order is over 20,000 THB.

My window is under 1.8 square yards — how is it charged?

At the 1.8 square-yard minimum per unit. Anything that works out smaller is charged as the minimum.

How much is the motor for a motorized wooden blind?

25,000 THB per unit, charged separately from the blind and not part of the per-square-yard price. Manual is standard; motorized is an option you order.

Can wooden blinds go in a bathroom?

It depends how wet. As a rule, a bathroom with only steam, no direct splashing and decent ventilation is rarely a problem. Inside the wet zone or taking spray directly, the wood can swell and warp — choose another material there.

How long is the warranty, and do you clean or repair them?

The slats are warranted for 1 year and the installation for 1 year. We don't take cleaning or repair work. If it's something covered by the warranty, message us as usual.
