How long does a made-to-measure curtain order take? Every step from first message to fitted

Updated 2026-10-076 min read

Anyone about to order made-to-measure curtains wants to know three things first: how long the wait is, what gets paid when, and what to have ready. Here is our process one step at a time, from the first LINE message to the fitter packing up.

A made-to-measure curtain isn't like a ready-made one you lift off a shelf and pay for. Every piece of fabric is cut to your own windows, so there are more steps, and a couple of points you can't go back from. Knowing the order in advance makes it easier to plan around a move-in date, and keeps unplanned costs out of the picture.

How many days does a curtain order take?

From the day you confirm the order to the day it's fitted takes 7-14 days, depending on how many units. That count starts when you confirm, not when you first message us. Before that there is the on-site measure, which takes 2-3 hours, and the written quote, which comes within a day. The table below shows how long each step takes and what money is involved.

2. On-site measure2-3 hours500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area, credited back in full when you order

What are the steps in ordering made-to-measure curtains?

  1. Message us on LINE with what you need — where it goes, rough window sizes, and which fabric type interests you. Not sure yet which way to go? Just ask.
  2. On-site measure — allow 2-3 hours, because we bring fabric samples for you to choose from on the spot.
  3. Written quote within one day, with the price held for 7 days.
  4. Confirm and pay the deposit — by bank transfer, cash or PromptPay.
  5. Made and fitted in 7-14 days from the day you confirm, depending on how many units. Fitting itself takes about 20 minutes per unit.
  6. Fitted, cleaned up, handed over — the fitter clears the offcuts and shows you how everything works before leaving.

On fitting day you do need to be home, because the fitter shows you how everything works before leaving. Weekends can be booked at no extra charge; fitting after 17:30 costs extra. In a condo, just let the building management know in advance that a fitter is coming — that's all. The rest of what matters in a condo is in the condo curtains guide.

What does the on-site measure cost, and is it credited back?

The on-site measure costs 500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area, and it is credited back in full when you order — so if you go ahead with us, that fee comes off the job. A home down a lane too narrow for a vehicle carries no travel surcharge; you pay the normal measure fee and nothing more. Outside the metro area we take some jobs, depending on distance: the site visit starts at 3,500 THB and is not credited back.

If you aren't ready for a fitter to come and measure, send rough sizes first through the window size tool, or measure them yourself following how to measure your own windows. Your own numbers are good for budgeting and talking through options; the sizes used for production are the ones the fitter takes on site.

What should be ready before the fitter comes to measure?

  • The room has to be fully finished, because the measurements have to be the final ones. If ceiling, floor or built-in work around the window is still going on, wait until it's done.
  • Allow 2-3 hours, and have whoever decides on fabric colour there — the samples arrive with the fitter.
  • For anything motorized, check for a socket near the headrail. If there isn't one, an electrician has to add it first; we don't do wiring. The other route for a motorized roller blind is a rechargeable battery motor.
  • Clear the area in front of the windows so the fitter can reach the top and sides of every opening.
  • Have a rough idea of how much light each room should get — dark for a bedroom, a view kept for a living room. It makes choosing fabric quicker. The comparison is in blackout vs sunscreen fabric.
  • In a condo, let the building management know in advance that a fitter is coming.

What is on the quote, and how much is the deposit?

The quote comes within one day. It lists your name and contact details, the curtain style, the exact fabric code you picked, and the measurement of every opening. The price on it holds for 7 days. Before confirming, read it line by line: check that the fabric code matches the sample you chose and that every room is on it, because what gets made follows this document. If you need a tax invoice, we can issue one — the shop is VAT registered, and every price on this site is before VAT.

Once you confirm, you pay the deposit — by bank transfer, cash or PromptPay. It isn't the same figure on every job: it depends on the size of the job, 50% on some and full payment on others. Ask on LINE which applies to yours when you receive the quote.

What costs are there besides the curtains themselves?

  • Every price on this site is before VAT.
  • The on-site measure costs 500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area and is credited back in full when you order. Outside that it starts at 3,500 THB and is not credited back.
  • Taking down old curtains: 200 THB per unit.
  • Scaffolding for high ceilings: 500 THB per level.
  • Backing beams where a track fixes into a plasterboard ceiling: 550 THB per metre.
  • If there is no socket near the headrail, an electrician has to add one first — we don't do wiring.
  • Fitting after 17:30 costs extra. Weekends are at no extra charge.

Fitting is charged separately from the curtains, and each category works differently. A motorized roller blind is 200-2,500 THB per unit depending on size. Curtains and the motorized curtain track are 200 THB per unit, a flat 2,000 THB if there are fewer than 10 units, and free once the order is over 20,000 THB. Starting prices for the three are in the table below; the detail is in how motorized roller blinds are priced, how curtains are priced by the yard and what a motorized curtain track costs.

How many days from ordering curtains to having them fitted?

7-14 days from the day you confirm, depending on how many units. Fitting itself takes about 20 minutes per unit.

How much is the on-site measure, and do I get it back?

500-1,000 THB in Bangkok and the metro area, credited back in full when you order. Outside that it starts at 3,500 THB depending on distance and is not credited back.

How much is the deposit, and can I cancel after paying it?

It depends on the job — 50% on some, full payment on others — and can be paid by bank transfer, cash or PromptPay. Once paid it can't be cancelled, because the fabric is cut specifically to your windows.

Who is responsible if a measurement or a made size is wrong?

If the error comes from our measuring, we fix it at our cost.

Can I change the fabric colour after ordering?

Before the fabric is cut, talk to us. Once it's made there is an extra charge, because the fabric has already been cut to your windows. If you change your mind, message us on LINE straight away.

Want the numbers for your own windows?

Send rough sizes first — no need to measure precisely. We'll work out a price, then arrange the real measure.
